Is Man in Nature's world or is Nature in Man's World? This is the question that I ask myself today. Our population of White Swans are diminishing here at the Lake. They haven't had offspring in several years. Being new to the Lake I was curious about this. What happened yesterday answered all my questions. I live in a well manicured lake community. We love it here, the lake is gorgeous and the waterfowl the visit here are amazing. Those that breed here are in danger though. We have taken away all their safe breeding areas by removing the brush and manicuring the lawns all the way to the water so that we could have a better view of the lake. The poor Swans don't have the material they need to make their nests and the certainly don't have brush to hide their nests from predators. Who is in Who's back yard?
