I had just moved into my new home and not a single flower was blooming in our new garden. The very next day I awoke to find this beautiful pink rose in full bloom as if it were welcoming me to my new home. You can almost smell it's fragrant bouquet. By Margot Carrera I awoke this morning singing a song from the 70's but just as relevant today. And it's one, two, three, What are we fighting for? I don't give a damn, it is Viet Namn, Sudan, Afganistan, and now Pakistan??? Naval Cemetary in San Diego, California
This weekend, My husband and I flew to Chicago to visit friends for our anniversary. Little did I know that I would also be traveling with a Fallen Hero from the war and his family. When we landed at Middway, the stewardess asked us to have a moment of silence for the soldier and his family. Out side the plane, there were workers standing at attention, soldiers carrieing flags, the abulance , police cars, and the fire engines all had their lights blinking. As we approach the fire engine let out a stream of water over our plane. We sat in silence and I could feel his pain in my heart, then it got larger and I could feel his families sorrow, then larger, I could feel my pain. Was it mine? Was it theirs? Or was it all of ours, because we are really one? There comes a time when we must realize that what comes around , goes around. An eye for an eye, is a circle that man never end unless we stop it ourselves. What is it that I want? Really, it is peace on earth. What is it that the young man wanted? Safety for his family? Peace brings safety. War begets more war. What would I like to see. I would like us to break this circle of distruction and see both sides lay down their guns and say no more war. I would like to see our leaders not talk about winning but negotiating for peace. I would like to see mediators in the white house mediating between the elephants and the mules, the reds and the blues. I would like to see us speaking our truth in the streets without our children getting tiergassed. I would like to stop looking at what we don't want and start coming up with what we do want for our country, planet, humanity, earth, home. Please, Peace on Earth good will toward man. MayGOD bless America, May GOD bless, the young soldier who lost his life, may GOD bless his family. I thank him for bringing heaven a little closer to home. |

Nature's Gifts
by Margot Carrera Specialties: Nature Photography, Living Art, Digital Art and Design, Healing Arts, Feng Shui. Margot Sherry Bogdanow-Carrera’s lifelong dedication to nature photography, her preferred art form for portraying this Earth, the planet unto which we are born and bound to preserve, is evident throughout her website: www.CarreraFineArt.com. Nature, in return, provides us with everything necessary for the spiritual journey we take while we remain on Earth. Too many of us, preoccupied with our daily struggle to survive, have lost sight of that promise, forgetting that if we had cared for Earth, there would be no struggle. Margot Carrera’s avowed insightful and artistic intent is to remind humankind of their connection to and with Nature, to remember that every one of us are – or should be – devoted stewards of this Earth. One can readily observe her special bond with every object she photographs and how this inspires each memorable image. “When you look at my website,” says Carrera, “you will discover at least one singular image that speaks directly to you and helps you to recall your own beautiful connection to Earth."
