Express Yourself
This California Sea Lion had no problem expressing himself. It's been my life long lesson to learn to let others know what I am thinking. I have been pretty silent throughout my life, not even letting others know when their actions are negatively affecting me. Now in my fifties, I am learning to speak up. Letting others know what I like and what I don't like. I am getting over the people pleasing phase. First of all, I realized you can't please everyone. It's up to them to receive or not to receive. To give or not to give. To be negative or to be joyful. by Margot Carerra Etsy MargotCarrera In Honor of Motherhood On Mother's day one usually gives Mom the gift of flowers or breakfast in bed, but speaking as a Mother, my greatest gifts that I have received in life has been my children and grandchild. I have been truly blessed. by Margot Carrera This image was taken at the Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley. Like any fine wine, art has it's inception, it's gestation period, and it's birth. For each of these periods is governed by science. If you add A + B you can pretty much expect that you are going to get C. The reason there are so many varieties of wines, some finer than others, stems from the variables and so it is with art. Take This piece for instance. Most artists will tell you that there are laws to be followed for fine art. For example, the laws of placement. It is a big no no to place your main focal point in the center of your image. In this photo, I chose to break that law. There was such a fullness of symmetry in this scene. The curves of the arches and the lines of the barrels leads your eyes directly to the patron Saint watching over the wine as it gestates, but more importantly, the lines leads to the arched doors that separate the viewer from the storage of the finished product, The wine stored in bottles waiting to be brought home. In this image A + B does not equal C. A + B leads you directly to what I want you to see which is C. In the making of fine art sometimes rules are broken so that the final outcome can be achieved and that outcome is FINE. Nature's Gifts
by Margot Carrera Specialties: Nature Photography, Living Art, Digital Art and Design, Healing Arts, Feng Shui. Margot Sherry Bogdanow-Carrera’s lifelong dedication to nature photography, her preferred art form for portraying this Earth, the planet unto which we are born and bound to preserve, is evident throughout her website: www.CarreraFineArt.com. Nature, in return, provides us with everything necessary for the spiritual journey we take while we remain on Earth. Too many of us, preoccupied with our daily struggle to survive, have lost sight of that promise, forgetting that if we had cared for Earth, there would be no struggle. Margot Carrera’s avowed insightful and artistic intent is to remind humankind of their connection to and with Nature, to remember that every one of us are – or should be – devoted stewards of this Earth. One can readily observe her special bond with every object she photographs and how this inspires each memorable image. “When you look at my website,” says Carrera, “you will discover at least one singular image that speaks directly to you and helps you to recall your own beautiful connection to Earth."
